Why choose Sprouted Ragi Flour?
Ragi is a rich source of calcium and fibre. It can be made a part of the everyday diet in the form of porridge, rotis, dosa, puttu, and various other dishes
Sprouting millets can increase their nutritional value. Sprouted ragi flour a.k.a sprouted finger millet flour has increased protein, dietary fibre, and enhanced iron bioavailability when compared to plain ragi flour. It is also easier to digest.
About our farmers
Our Sprouted Ragi Flour is proudly sourced from the Sittilingi Valley Organic Farmers Producer Company Limited (SOFPC), a collaboration involving 500 tribal farmers of Tamil Nadu.
They are supported by The Tribal Health Initiative, an NGO with a three-decade history in the community.
SOFPC emphasises sustainable farming practices, requiring farmers to allocate part of their land for growing paddy, millets, and vegetables, enhancing local nutrition.Â
Through fair procurement at above-market prices, it has contributed to increased and stabilised incomes, minimising work-related migration.Â
Their flours are a testament to sustainable agriculture and community empowerment.
Journey of the productÂ
We source Sprouted Ragi Flour from 500 tribal farmers of Sittilingi Valley, Tamil Nadu..Â
To make this flour, The producer company buys millets from farmers at the time of harvest. Then they are meticulously processed by local women, who clean, sprout, solar-dry, mildly roast, and mill the grains.Â
At last, we package it in ziplock pouches, extending its shelf life and preserving its freshness, so you can relish every meal with confidence in the quality and sustainability we stand for.
