single sourced

From one farmer in Ratnagiri

Not mixed, not sourced from mandis.

Every mango season, we try to bring you something that feels real and not just in taste, but how it is grown, handled, and reaches you.

These Alphonso mangoes come from one farmer, Vinay Ketkar in Ratnagiri.
Not from a mandi, not mixed from multiple sources.

These are GI-tagged Ratnagiri Alphonso mangoes, which means:

  • Grown in their native geography
  • Known for superior taste, aroma, and texture
  • Naturally priced higher than mangoes from other regions

You may find Alphonso mangoes from other regions too (like Karnataka or other parts of Maharashtra). They are usually more affordable taste wise you may notice a difference.

🌿 How they are grown

There’s no “perfect” farming story but this is an honest one.

It’s really a mix, traditional practices supported by some modern natural methods.

For soil:

  • Cow dung manure
  • Wood-pressed oil cakes
  • Compost made on the farm
  • Jeevamrut (used in soil and as a spray)

To manage pests during flowering and fruiting:

  • Neem-based sprays
  • Dashparni ark (made in small batches, so used carefully)
  • Chilli-ginger extracts for pest control
  • Light traps at night / Yellow sticky traps

Here are the organic certification and pesticide residue test reports, so you can see what goes into your food.

🌿 How they ripe!

The mangoes are plucked raw and sent to us.

They are then packed in rice hay, and allowed to ripen slowly — the way it used to be done.

No carbide. No artificial ripening.

Just time, warmth, and patience.

Harvesting & Delivery!

The mangoes are plucked raw, sorted between categories like A+, A1, A2, A3.

They are then packed in rice hay, and sent to us. So when they reach us, they are allowed to ripen slowly in the same box with rice hay, the way it used to be done.

No carbide. No artificial ripening.

Once they semi ripe, then we start sending it to you!

Note: Mangoes lose 15–20% weight during ripening, which is natural.

🏡 Storage & Ripening Guide

🏡 Something doesn’t feel right, we’re here

We understand that with natural produce, not everything is always predictable.

If something feels off, please don’t hesitate to reach out, we’ll always try to support you in the best way we can.

Here’s how we usually handle things:

  • If a mango has spongy tissue inside (white patches), we’ll take care of it
  • If a mango is damaged or pressed during delivery, let us know within 24 hours and sharing a quick photo helps us resolve it faster

At the same time, there are a few situations where we may not be able to help:

  • If there are only external spots but the fruit inside is good
  • If the mango was cut before fully ripening
  • If it’s about personal taste preference

We always try to keep things fair, for you and for the farmer.

A few common questions?

We are committed to bringing you 100% pesticide residue free food to you. When you buy any of the above products from us:

  • We will share which farm your packet comes from.
  • We work with certified organic farmers. You will receive this certificate on your first order from us

Because they are:

  • GI-tagged (region-specific authenticity)
  • Known for superior taste and aroma
  • Produced in limited quantity

Mangoes from other regions (like Karnataka or other parts of Maharashtra) are usually cheaper but differ in taste.

We only send premium grade mangoes:

  • A1 (Large): ~241g – 270g (raw weight)
  • A2 (Medium): ~211g – 240g (raw weight)

We don’t include very large (jumbo) or smaller grades, so what you receive is consistent and good for eating.

The weight mentioned is of the raw mango.

As mangoes ripen, they naturally lose about 15–20% weight, which is completely normal.

Not exactly.

Since these are natural produce, there can be slight variations. But they will fall within the A1 or A2 grade range.

When your mangoes arrive, they may not all be ready to eat immediately.

If they are still raw:

  • Just leave them at room temperature
  • Keep them in the box
  • If you want to speed it up, wrap each mango in paper

Avoid sunlight and avoid keeping them in AC airflow.

Cut the mangoes only when they have ripened. They will not ripe once cut.

The weight mentioned is of raw fruit.
During ripening, 15–20% weight loss is natural due to moisture reduction.

1. Ripe mangoes have yellowish tinge on some parts. Semi-ripe mangoes are fully green.

2. Ripe mangoes will be soft in touch. Semi-ripe ones will be firm on touching.

Note: Even the ripe mangoes will not be fully yellow as they are not ripened chemically.

Sometimes a mango may look perfect outside but have white patches inside, this is called spongy tissue.

  • This is a known natural issue in Alphonso mangoes
  • It’s not due to chemicals or mishandling
  • The unaffected portion is still safe to eat

We do support in such cases, just let us know.

It’s quite normal to see some spots, patches, or marks on naturally grown mangoes.

These can happen due to:

  • Natural weather exposure (sun, wind, rain)
  • Minor pest interactions during growth
  • Handling during harvesting and transport
  • Sometimes, when a little sap/juice comes out from the stem and dries on the skin

Because these mangoes are not chemically treated for appearance, they may not look “perfect”.

But, these marks usually do not affect the fruit inside. In most cases, the mango is perfectly good to eat.

However, if you ever find that the mango is not good from inside, please reach out to us, we’ll take care of it.

Sometimes, during transit, a mango may get slightly pressed due to handling.

If you notice this, just reach out to us and we’ll take care of it.

  • Please inform us the same day or within 24 hours of delivery
  • Sharing a quick photo helps us understand and support you better
